About the Next400

The Next 400 is an episodic program that will air on major networks in the USA and the continent of Africa, as well as online. The name acknowledges that 2019 marks 400 years since the arrival of the first enslaved Africans in Jamestown, Virginia. This year honors the cumulative resilience of all the victims of the Trans-Atlantic slave trade who were scattered and displaced throughout the world in North America, South America, The Caribbean, Europe and Asia. The Next 400 program seeks to celebrate the “beauty from the ashes” emanating from the past 400 years of the Diasporic Africans’ journey. The show will celebrate major contributions and accomplishments by Africans, African Americans, and Diasporic Africans.

Our Mission

The mission of The Next 400 is to reconnect and bridge the gap between Africans spread around the world through the Trans-Atlantic trade and their brothers and sisters on the continent of Africa. The show will challenge and encourage all people of African descent to trace their roots to the continent of Africa so they can better understand the genesis of their respective and collective journeys. As more descendents reconnect, this will present numerous opportunities to learn, better explore and understand our stories, our respective journeys, our different cultures, cuisine, art, family dynamics, business opportunities etc.
